Genetic Genealogy

This is the title for our Brown Bag lunch in February. Not only has genetic testing become a tool for genealogists to learn more about their genetic roots, but it is aiding in solving cold cases.  Just this week, a case was solved in Massachusetts using DNA from Ancestry’s data base. It truly is fascinating and the uses are endless. The tv show 60 Minutes did a program on utilizing DNA databases, such as Ancestry and Family tree, in aiding crime solving.  I read a review of Dani Shapiro’s new book, Inheritance:  A Memoir of Genealogy, Paternity, and Love, which was fascinating. More and more people are interested in not only who they come from, but where.  DNA testing helps with both questions. Come to our Brown Bag on February 6, at noon. Bring your lunch and we will discuss all the questions you may have.  I think it will be interesting and I am looking forward to it.
