Organizing your genealogy

Everybody makes and breaks their New Year’s resolutions, but this is one I am truly going to try and maintain—more blogs.  So, with that in mind, I am starting off the new year with a blog that follows up our brown bag topic last week—Organizing Your Genealogy.  Every January, retailers push buyers to organize, either their financial records, their closets, their offices…the list goes on.  Last week, we had a brown bag lunch on organizing your genealogy, and, as usual, we got off topic, but I found some other information after the lunch that might help any of you who are interested.

Familytree Magazine is a great source of information. The January/February 2019 had a wonderful article about developing a month-to-month plan for doing your genealogy.  It was an informative and helpful read and I encourage any of you who need help to look at it.  I do have the edition here, and I am happy to help in any way I can.  The singular most important aspect of doing genealogy or organizing your work is to stay focused.  The article in Familytee helped with tips for each month.

Until next time,

Kristi

NOTE: Kristi did her part, but Misty failed to post this in a timely manner… sorry! – Misty
