St. Valentine’s Day

Happy St. Valentine’s Day to everyone.  On this date in history, Oregon was admitted to the union in 1859.  Arizona was admitted in 1912.  And one of the most infamous incidents, the St. Valentine’s Day massacre in which Al Capone slaughtered his rival gangster, Bugs Moran in 1929.  If you look up on the internet, the history of St. Valentine is fascinating.  For Catholics, he is the patron saint of love.  One of the oldest surviving love letters is the one Charles, Duke of Orleans wrote to his wife from the Tower of London in 1415 after he was captured at the Battle of Agincourt.  St. Valentine’s Day was a day to celebrate your love and affection for someone, but today we know it as hearts, flowers, and chocolate.  Either way, if just a card or a grand gesture  I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
